Any ideas on making my new home look modern?
I just bought a new log cabin type home and I need help on the decor. The walls are made of wood and the floor is carpeted, but I dont like the whole outdoorsy type of decor that are in tradiontal log cabins..like elk horns, flanel plaid prints, beds made out of tree branches, bear paintings…how do I look my home look modern and chic…I'm only 21, I dont want my home to look too old for me. If anyone has pictures, that would help or ideas please.
I love this house site. It's main purpose is to sell their houses showing (house plans etc).
But it also has photos of the inside with some wonderful decorating ideas which is very modern!!! I love the inside decorating.

I remember seeing on Extreme Home makeover, they made a log house (first log house made in the show) for a family, and they did a lot of modern furnishings "inside" the house. If you could find the site with that episode and see the finished product, that could also give you ideas.

Wood walls are great for some modern faux finishes. You can do them yourself. Try ragging, glazing, or venetian plaster. Metallics (especially golds) are really hot right now. So are Moroccan reds, turquoises, and purples. You can also find some funky stencils to spice it up.
You can create some really modern looks on the cheap. Just make sure that your walls are in good condition. Wash them in mild soap, and use a good primer, like Ben Moore's Fresh Start.

if you are girly,you can paint your bedroom with purpl colour. try to put at least two colours.put a pink bed.talk about living room,you can paint it with brown colour.put sofa 1-2-3 with white and black colour.to make it more stylish,put a tv and L shape sofa
