This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the Dell Studio Hybrid, a desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Configured with an Intel Core 2 Duo T2390 (1.86 Ghz) CPU, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250 GB 5400 RPM hard drive, an 8x slot-loading DVD burner, and an Intel X3100 GPU. The colour is “Ruby”, and cost me $744 Canadian with taxes direct from Dell.

Nice review Jason, good job :)
As for the casing… it was pretty clear to me that it would be translucent, even from the sloppy dell photos… anyway it looks awesome and can’t wait for the next vid with installation and operation :)

WOW that is the best looking desktop i ever seen and it’s by Dell.

Love the Ruby color, the Design of course.

the keyboard and mouse, does it come with it standard or do u have to buy it for extra? Also very slim and new, i like.

Important question, can u customize the desktop, like upgrade graphic card ?

thanks awesome video and MADE my mouth water.

  8. Windows Media …
Windows Media Center better then Front Row?
    You mean: more stuff?

I really advise everyone to use what suits him best, too.
    So we agree there.

But where is the problem to finally give in and call out what is wrong in the Win / Linux “world”: the software.
And, btw., time to realise that it’s not about hardware anymore, but about software.

I hope the recenet popularity Apple and Mac OS had will FORCE some of the “competition” to finally make better what’s most important: the user interfaces.

Vista loves RAM. 2 GB is where Vista works nicely, and 3 GB is even better…Vista is great at using available memory to cache programs for faster execution. Plus, RAM is super cheap nowadays…so why not?

True - if you don’t need an optical drive, and you don’t need to do anything CPU intensive, the Atom might be ok. I wasn’t willing to give up QUITE that much power, and I needed to play DVDs, so the Asus Eee Box wasn’t a good fit for me.
