This is my review video of the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, Dell’s first step into the world of low-cost netbooks. The Mini 9 that I ordered has a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU, 16 GB solid-state flash storage, 1 GB of RAM, a 4 cell battery, and an 8.9 inch at 1024 x 600 resolution. The Linux-based versions start at $349 USD, and the XP-based versions start at $399. If you get the XP-based version with every option, it’s about $480 USD. Enjoy the video!

  1. Are we talking …
Are we talking about the same product? I just checked out the Dell Web site and there is no option for a 32 GB SSD, nor for a 2 GB RAM upgrade. 16 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM is where it tops out. Or are you talking about after-market upgrades? That’s kind of a different story then…

  2. Good review Jason. …
Good review Jason. I have a dell mini 9, but I on the other hand love it. I did do quite a few things to it in order to get it to run faster including removing alot of the software from dell. The SSD is upgradable for pretty cheep. 32GB for $99. also you can get 2GB of ram for $27. so all in all it does fit my needs very well. Oh yeah, the msi wind was my second choice!!

I think the Acer Aspire One has a great price/performance ratio, but I returned mine because the fan was too loud. A friend bought one and he said that Acer has released a BIOS update to make the fan quieter, so that would help things out quite a bit. I actually have a video of the Acer coming up, so watch for it. :-) - Jason

  4. It was a trailer …
It was a trailer for a movie called “The Rules of Attraction” that came out in 2002. I’ve never seen the movie, but Microsoft has all these nice HD trailers for testing…

In my opinion, the MSI Wind is a better overall netbook - I shot an unboxing video on here previously, and I’ll be shooting a full review video of the MSI Wind in the coming weeks (hopefully!).
