A digital home pregnancy test showed positive this morning even though I’m only 8dpo. How is this possible?

I knew it was too early to take a standard at-home pregnancy test because I was only 8 dpo, but I couldn’t resist. I thought a tentative negative result would prepare me for a real negative result if it turned out I wasn’t pregnant yet. Amazingly, the result was positive!! How is this possible, and is it too early to celebrate? -Mikey’s mom

a positive means PREGNANT!!!! soo call the doctor and make your first apt…. CONGRATS! No its not to soon to celebrate I was only 4 weeks when I found out and I called and i went out to a dinner with my family be happy and share your news!!!!!

    Some home pregnancy tests are so sensitive that they can detect as early as 5 days.

    i would make sure with a blood test at the doctors or a HPT in a couple days.. but fake positives are much more unlikely than fake negatives….so congrats :) it sounds good!

    Assuming you ahve a 28 day cycle, 8dpo is within 5 days before next expected period, so many tests these days say they can show a (+) this early. Chances are low of a false (+). Retest after missed period or one week. Then see your Dr. to confirm with a blood test
